Dead Aid: Why Aid Is Not Working and How There Is a Better Way for Africa

This is a call to the living,
To those who refuse to make peace with evil,
With the suffering and the waste of the world.
This is a call to the human, not the perfect,
To those who know their own prejudices
Who have no intention of becoming prisoners of their own limitations.
This is a call to those who remember the dreams of their youth,
who know what it means to share foot and shelter
The care of children and those who are troubled,
To reach beyond barriers of the past bringing people to communion.

This is a call to the never ending spirit of the common man,
His essential decency and integrity,
His unending capacity to suffer and endure,
To face death and destruction and to rise again
And build from the ruins of life.
This is the greatest call of all
The call to a faith in people.

Congratulations to Ro Wyman and CCHIPs for receiving

Medical Systems & Clinical Practices

To empower health center staff with the systems and capability needed for high quality care delivery

Dr. Nathalie trains nurses and hygienists at Kabere Health Center.

The lack of formal medical education of health center staff is a serious barrier to high quality medical care at health centers. To improve the quality of care provided, CCHIPs focuses on:

(i) enhancing medical systems

(ii) improving clinical practices through training

CCHIPs collaborates with staff to strengthen the management of standard medical systems, such as the hospitalization, referral, filing, follow up and monitoring of clinical care provided in the community. To complement the formal medical education of health center staff, CCHIPs helps the health center conduct weekly medical training sessions on important clinical practices and is introducing the continuous medical education program at the health center level. Through combining system improvement with the improvement of clinical practices, we help the staff to achieve the central mission of the health center: to deliver high quality care and improve the health of the population.
