Dead Aid: Why Aid Is Not Working and How There Is a Better Way for Africa

This is a call to the living,
To those who refuse to make peace with evil,
With the suffering and the waste of the world.
This is a call to the human, not the perfect,
To those who know their own prejudices
Who have no intention of becoming prisoners of their own limitations.
This is a call to those who remember the dreams of their youth,
who know what it means to share foot and shelter
The care of children and those who are troubled,
To reach beyond barriers of the past bringing people to communion.

This is a call to the never ending spirit of the common man,
His essential decency and integrity,
His unending capacity to suffer and endure,
To face death and destruction and to rise again
And build from the ruins of life.
This is the greatest call of all
The call to a faith in people.

Congratulations to Ro Wyman and CCHIPs for receiving

Facilities Management & Maintenance

To develop the knowledge and systems for maintaining health center facilities and equipment

The new toilet facilities at Shingiro Health Center, built and maintained with CCHIPs support.

CCHIPs aims to improve all health center infrastructure that is directly related to primary health care delivery. In addition to our Resource Provision, in which we work with the health center to ensure that it has all the resources needed to provide quality primary care, we help health centers improve how they manage and maintain their facilities. This includes:

  1. Helping health centers identify infrastructure and equipment needs, and prioritize how to address these needs
  2. Working with the Procurement Team to follow MoH protocols on bidding
  3. Advising health center Titulaires and accountants on how to manage and oversee construction, including budgeting and supervision
  4. Improve equipment life by training health center staff in correct operations and maintenance
